This Time Around

My wife and I are expecting our second child in March, our second boy.

I remember talking a lot before we decided to try for our first child. It was always a matter of when, never if. But it was a decision that we took very seriously.

I’m not sure we had those conversations this time around.

The reason? We’re more confident now than we were three years ago. We have experience as parents. We’ve had failures and successes. We’ve won a few bedtime battles, and we’ve lost many more.

I didn’t know if I would be a good dad. I had to prove it to myself. I’m still trying.

I’m ready for the challenge again.
